This is a tribute to one of my inspirations. I wrote it a day after his death and I thought that it was finally time to share it with the world. No-one in this world can live and say they don't or have never heard of MJ.
Michael Jackson was a singer
He was a son, a brother
Someone's friend, a father
Someone's inspiration
He was an idol to all
He was someone people looked up to
From child to adulthood
He was someone unique
He had a special talent
To entertain and bring joy to people
He was always there when we needed him
We took him for granted, we never said "thank you"
Michael Jackson was mind, gentle
Playful, honest, quiet and respectful
His video always taught us a special message
He never took anything for granted
He was and always will be the "King of Pop"
No one can ever replace him
His legacy will live on for many years to come
We had faith in him, trusted him
He was like a father, brother to the world
He will never be gone, not far
His flame will never stop burning from our hearts
He's an angel, watching over us
He was diminished by time, love and faith
His absence affected so many people
Those who looked up to him
And those who knew him
He was loved, now he's cherished
Michael was the greatest musician
Of his generation
He will never be forgotten
He left a mark in the world
That can be followed by everyone
We'll never know why he left
We do know that he changed the world
We can understand why God wanted him near him
We loved him but God loved him more
Though we have trouble accepting that he's gone, let's not
Instead, we'll keep his memories alive in our hearts
