Do honestly think that it's just for people to make a movie title Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter after one of America's greatest presidents?
Truthfully, I think in some way... Ok, I'm speechless. So let me just tell you what I thought of the movie. Firstly, it's a horror, fantasy with a dash of action because I fall easily in movies if there are no cars blowing up, people hitting other; let alone being thrown out of a window or cliff. I particularly find those movies interesting as they teach me that if I were to attempt such stunts, (a) It would lead to my death. (b) It would land me in jail. Back to the vampire hunter. Who knew that America's honest guy should be such a badass?
This is film was very captivating in my opinion because it should me another side of Lincoln. It made me think. "Would this have been Lincoln before his election?" Though Rotten Tomatoes judge films in a strict manner, I believe that they misinterpreted this movie. Of course, it has an overly serious tone, with the background of Lincoln's family in the film; you'd kind of expect the tone to be angry. Shit people, the guy is trying to avenge his mother's death. What don't you get? I do think that the filmmakers forgot the humor of the film or maybe forgot to include a big of smartness. Overall I enjoyed the movie, mostly because of the action. I think it'd be great for my history lesson but even better if my history GCSE was based on it but sadly it's not. The battle scenes were truly epic for a nifty slasher movie. Congratulations Vampire Lincoln! It would have a been an honour to have met you.
Honest Lincoln? There isn't really much that I can say except how great and honorable he was. You can see it in his name that he deserved to lead his people because like God had promised Abraham " I will surely bless you and make you descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore." Lincoln truly was one of America's utmost heroes and leader.
"Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right."
"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." (Used in movie White House Down starring Jamie Foxx & Channing Tatum)
"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
"I walk slowly but I never walk backward."
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."
