The Green Light No Longer Eludes Gatsby

Platform: 'Climate change is real,' said DiCaprio as he used his acceptance speech to deliver a lecture on the environment

I never doubted you for one time! I never could but its about damn time! Well done, Gatsby ! We've been rooting for you since '94 because we saw that you were destined for greatness.

Greatness is not measured by a number of trophies, someone wins but the heart, someone possesses. Your heart was an authentic one. Your acceptance speech was even greater. You didn't boast about all the other golden men that you've missed because this one was the highest of them all.

The Odeon Cinema next to workplace renamed itself "London" in support of you. My friends and I debated, we reblogged on Tumblr about how this was to be your last night without your 'green light'.

In the last paragraph of 'The Great Gatsby', Fitzgerald focuses on the struggle of human being in attaining their goals by transcending and re-creating the past. However, you never fell into the trap, you proved yourself to be able to move beyond the past. You never lost your optimism. I guess you finally achieved the American Dream, old sport.

" Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgiastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that's no matter - tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther..."

Winning combination: Leo's turn as a frontiersman in The Revenant has seen him sweep the awards season

Congratulations on a well-delivered speech - 'Making The Revenant was about man's relationship to the natural world...climate change is real. It is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating. Let us not take our planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted.'

I do predict more Oscars in your future, Mr. DiCaprio.

****

What I have to say is not revolutionary//
It's not gonna change the world//
But they are my deepest thoughts//
My deepest secrets that I but no one else knows//
It's' what I think of the world//
Without the intention of being mean//
Nor naive//
But I'm tired of living//
I've grown tired of this treacherous world//
But on my good days//
I see the good in the world and feel proud once again//
I get overwhelmed the earth majestic wonders//
That the sun rises and sets on those fiery skies every single day//
And until it stops doing so//
That will be the day that I stop believing that there's no good left in the world//
But for now//
I will continue to be the compliant person that I am//
Like I said//
What I have to say is not revolutionary//
I am but a mere voice in a spacious jungle//
Sorry for the disappointment

You

It's not easy!
We were not easy!
And I can easily see that,
However, I'm not willing to admit it.
It was a fast-paced friendship,
I'm surprised that we were able to run for so long besides each other.
But it was the disappearing act, that broke us,
All we asked for was love.
Never in sync with one another,
Life seemed to have other plans for us.
It's hated.
It's the long-distance.
Despite the fact, that we see each other constantly,
It's the feeling of past memories,
The drama that we always had,
That's what I miss most.
But most of all,
It's you that I could never replace, no matter how hard I try.
You still give me hope, without drama,
Constantly reminding that not all people are set out to hurt me.
It's you that I miss the most,
But I will never admit it.

Weekly Obsession

This song has literally drove the internet mad! It's the best song I've heard in a while and I love it! I LITERALLY adore it!

"7 Years" is a song by Danish band Lukas Graham, released on the 18th September 2015. It went on being become a huge success in Northern European countries and some places in the US. Though, personally, I believe that everyone should have a listen.

So here you go.

There's also been a remake of the classic, Fast Car by Tracy Chapman. It's a terrific cover by Jonas Blue ft Dakota. They've truly done justice to it.

WELL DONE!

London's Better From 12am

It happened a while ago
When you're on a train ride home, hear the sound of excitement among the young folks
But the stranger next you has been jaded by life for so many years
A simple conversation makes them smile
It happened to me once
On my way home back from work, I fell asleep on the train
Though the stranger next to me woke me up to ask for my stop
As my stop approached, I was woken up by this kind stranger and he struck up a conversation with me
The couple the sat behind us asked how I fell to sleep whilst eating pizza, I told them - "because I grew tired of it"

It was that night that I decided - "London was better after 12am"
No, it's not the city of lights
Nor the city of love
But if you stay out long enough, you'll witness true magic
Faded are the jaded experiences of negativity
If the night is still young
Pass a glance across the lost souls that sit beside the homeless stranger and share their meal with him
We are not the children of the dark but rather the children of the night
It's the city of life
Coming alive at night
