If I could do anything you know that I would, but this is just too much for words

Of all people that have left us this year, I always thought that you'd never go

You'd live plentiful years to watch your nations prosperous 

To sum up this year, I say that this year has been crap!

We have lost so many great people but your loss has been the greatest

And you know what? 

I'm sick of this! I'm tired of writing all these goodbye letters because we were not ready to let you go! 

The world has lost a son, brother, father but mostly a Leader

You've done so much for us and I hope we made you proud in return because we've had the utter most respect for you unlike anyone else

People such as you are incredibly rare in a world like this

But I know that you're now at peace and even better;

You're home with your creator but you have left us in heartache

Nelson, you held one of the world's most inspirational stories 

It doesn't matter what happens from on here because you have left a supreme legacy behind

It has no wrongs nor room for improvement because you gave your life for the unknowns

You no longer belong to us.

You belong to the ages as the children that come after us will be touched by you and live on to tell their generation

You are our liberator, our own son, father and rescuer 

You lived a simple life but carried our sufferings along with you

Educated us on what was right and what was wrong, though we should have known better

We will never truly comprehend the level of strength that it took you to endure many of your years 

You stood for justice and honour

Nothing more, nothing less

We have lost a great soul and for a minute we saw that we had lost a great light 

Of course, we knew that your time was coming, but there were so many signs of hope that we didn't want to believe that it would be this soon

You're being a Freedom fighter, Prisoner, President, and a Global Icon

I'm sure that no one can imagine their life without the example that you've set

You were never one for wanting anything in return

Maybe that's why this hurts even more

God saw that your time with us was done, though we may not agree with it now; we'll learn to come to terms with it
