It's like we'll never stop
Never stop enduring heartache, suffering, and death
But there's a silver lining in all that, you see
We are provided with love, the greatest thing of all and we take it for granted
We've lost and gained so much but today trumps everything the world has ever faced
Today is the day that we reminisce about the heroes that are finally asleep
So let's have no sorrow nor tears but hearts filled with joy and gratitude
We humans are known for pondering about the negative rather than the positive
However, you get no decisions today because it's not your day
They gave their lives so that we might live
They have marked themselves amongst the stars to watch over us
As we have marked ourselves upon the earth to remember them
But see little ones, we've all been on the sphere for too long and you know it's true
We've seen the sun come out to play and go to sleep, stayed out past our curfew to feel the night breeze
On this day, fearless soldiers lined up for us for freedom and pride
But not all of them came back to us
And the ones who returned to us...were...
The fallen lie peacefully in those Flanders fields
Witnessing one of Mother Nature's greatest gift, red poppies grew for them
They didn't want them to be forgotten, so we remember them now
For that we shall not break our faith in them, we give them a minute of silence
Mother Nature is their security blanket now, shielding them from the cold with the poppies
Dear nation or world, we've bounced back from far worse but not this because we haven't fully healed yet
We've been taught to love and now they lie
For we know where we came from and where we are headed, so what reason is there to fear
For the poppies that grow now will grow for years to come as they are a sign for those valiant comrades
We've have been taught to love and now they lie
In the Flanders fields protected by the poppies, safely they lie
It's the Eleventh day
Of the Eleventh month
Of the Eleventh hour
