Today was a Sunday which means I had to go church. Anyways I've lost my way along the way but this song has somehow managed to rescue me and I love you Joan Osborne for that. 'One of us' is a religious song that questions the human race about what they'd say if God was here. Would they change or do anything differently?
In the song, God is described as a 'slob' trying to find his way home, which suggests that the human race has no idea where they're headed. They're all strangers to each other who've lost their path in life and are wandering in the wild. But if a chance were to open up and God asked us to be with him, to be one with him, would we accept or decline it?
"If God had a face what would it look like and would you want to see. If seeing meant that you would have to believe, in things like heaven and in Jesus and the Saints and all the Prophets." I ask one question- if God were to appear before us right now, at this very moment would we have the courage to go up to him and tell him our sins and ask forgiveness?
I don't know if I would. I still have my faith and still believe in Dieu but I have so many questions but unfortunately, no one to answer them. I'm still a Christian, at least I think so!
