Letters To People I Love: What We Became

On January 20th, Donald John Trump became the 45th president of America. Despite, losing the vote of the people but he won the irrelevant one (the electoral college). On that day we became, the world became one as we united against a common "evil". One that showed no sympathy for the rights of others, so he decided to build a wall denying our fellow brothers and sisters of their natural rights. Not to mention that he fucking pulled an "all lives matter" on the Holocaust.

On January 21st, Trump's first day in office was gracefully overshadowed by the Women's March. A mighty successful one, I might say. And on that day, we became strong-headed, free-willed women. We did not seek comfort nor permission from the government because that, itself is the most corrupt body in the world right now. Our march reached the edges of the earth and it still carries on. We marched together in solidarity. In support of those that could not be there with us. We marched for them. For our rights. For the rights of our future generations. On January 21st, every woman and male made herstory. In that moment, we became writers in our own right.

During our march, we protested the Trump administration. Merely, because we do not relate to him. Simply because we can't. We just couldn't. What America's 45th president stands for is not in line with the dreams of America's Founding fathers. We know this because long before Donald J. Trump became apart of America's legacy and history, he had become the monster we all feared. He's grown ignorant of the mere fact that America is the land of immigrants. That, immigrants, are what make America great and that without them, America will dissolve. And I fear that that day is near but I genuinely hope that, that day is only a merely illusion in my mind.

Because...should that day come to pass we will not only become victims but preparators if we let it happen.
