Today, history has been made. After a grueling 77 years of being in the shadow, Andy Murray has managed to restore hope to the British souls. Murray has become the first man to win the Tennis Championships at Wimbledon since Fred Perry in 1936. That's an incredible achievement!
You have no idea how ecstatic the country was! Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to Novak Djokovic who is the six-time tennis champion and currently ranking number 1 in the world of tennis was slaughtered in straight sets.
Both men played well, although after spending a severe amount of three hours in the treacherous summer sun of England; Andy decided to just get it over with it.
The joy that appeared on the faces of millions that had gathered around to watch is certainly unforgettable. To see 77 years of history being thrown down the drain and proving that Britain can still win championships is truly electrifying. Proud faces shone onto Murray, a mother's joy to see her son finally achieve his dreams in one in a million.
I don't know whether you guys watched but all I can say it that. It was worth it, all the three hours I sat through it with my eyes pierced at the screen. I don't regret one second of it. Well done Murray. And like my friend says: "congrats to our nation and its star after 77 years. It would take a Scot to give Britain some grit..."
Excellent work Murray. You might have just defeated your biggest obstacle yet, see you next year!
