Crushing Hard & Fast

I feel as if I don't talk about this side of myself. The vulnerable side of me, and maybe that's because I'm a Virgo. We aren't that good at expressing our feelings and if we do, or if we are asked to; we typically try to convey that everything's fine. Though I trust you guys, I know I can.

So anyway crushes are such BULL! Especially if you have one on your best friend or a close friend which is kind of what I'm going through because I tend not to let myself like people as I've seen most of them fail me or because I've let myself push people away. Unfortunately what I feel right now is so FREAKING UGHH! Like I don't know as I'm so used to being friends with boys not crushing on them and my brothers would freak out and probably educate me with the possibility of how I should be concentrating on school and serious shit, which I am. Though I don't really mind because I love them and they are the best guys ever!

I'm asking you guys for help. I have a sister who's six years older and yeah I'm supposed to go to her in the kind of situations but I just felt like asking you guys. It's not my first but I feel like it's a completely different one compared to the rest that I've had.

What to do?

Anthem for Doomed Youth by Wilfred Owen

What passing-bells for these who die as cattle?
Only the monstrous anger of the guns.
Only the stuttering rifles' rapid rattle
Can patter out their hasty orisons.
No mockeries now for them; no prayers nor bells,
Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs,—
The shrill, demented choirs of wailing shells;
And bugles calling for them from sad shires.

What candles may be held to speed them all?
Not in the hands of boys, but in their eyes
Shall shine the holy glimmers of good-byes.
      The pallor of girls' brows shall be their pall;
Their flowers the tenderness of patient minds,
And each slow dusk a drawing-down of blinds.

“Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift.” Mary Oliver

What do you do when you realize that your heading or title has nothing to do with what you're writing about? What do you do when you feel like your head is empty but in a way filled with ideas that you can't seem to access? What you do is choose something within the heading and simply write away. It won't matter whether you're dragging because sometimes, dragging is the best kind of writing...

So what was the box of darkness that you received? How did it make you feel? Did it affect you in any way? How did you conquer the darkness or does it still have a hold of you?

When is it that you come to terms that you can be unstoppable? That everything people have told you has either been to break or make you. When is it that you come to face the fact that you're better off without some people?

They make have given you the box and for a while, you felt trapped, but you soon figured that it wasn't just a curse but also a gift; you understood more and become stronger along the way.

What do you do when you finally gain the freedom that you've been aching for? Where do you go and who do you go with?

Welcome To Sixth Form, Get Ready For The Worst, Hardest & Possibly Best (If You Try) Years Of Your Life...(Don't Forget To Have A LITTLE Fun!)

So apparently the next two years of my life are the hardest... my older brother who's currently in university said that "Sixth form is way harder than university. It's the hardest thing in your life that you'll ever do!"

Why would I want to put myself in this intricate plan...simple.
    1. I'm determined to do better than my older siblings because I like challenges as I'm not really motivated with the whole idea of school; therefore setting challenges for myself will help me forget and focus
    2. Sixth form is a nicer version of hell in a way, I'd like to think. The devil is the endless essays and the exams that we have at the end of the years and sadly, we are the unfortunate souls that fell into the trap.
    3. It's a new change and as a Virgo, I need to expand my wings and adapt to my new change quickly. I'm also looking forward to the new things that my music class has to teach me.

But for now, I wish you well. To. All. Of. Us. That. Are. Stuck. In. This. 24 Month. Nightmare. We'll succeed in the end. Our outcome has to be even better than the years behind.

A Father's, (Bob Hoskins) Life Lessons To His Daughter, (Rosa Hoskins)

I'm one to dwell on the past but because my own daddy hasn't been involved in my life, I do have times where I think that I've missed out on and then I have days that I think that it's a good thing that he's not here. I hope that wasn't harsh because I didn't intend for it to be but a daughter needs her father and when she doesn't she will have doubts about people especially through all those fatherly things that you are meant to do with your fathers and when you look around like I've done; I've come to gradually accept that if he did want to be apart of mine and my brothers and sister's lives, he would have made the effort.

Thankfully I have the internet, and whenever I feel lost; I can just type and find some kind of closure even though it doesn't exactly heal the wound.

Anyway, whilst I was bouncing around I came upon this and I thought that it was more than lovely. It was a father's open letter to his daughter. Enjoy! and do try to make one for your future kids and I'll post mine up when I'm done with it.

Picture of Bob Hoskins with daughter Rosa Hoskins, posted on her Facebook page
Bob Hoskins and his daughter, Rosa Hoskins

'The daughter of Bob Hoskins has revealed the 11 life lessons that her father taught his family before he died. Rosa Hoskins said: These are the lessons he taught me, I will keep them close to my heart and remind myself of them whenever I stumble or falter.'
"They are his words, the words spoke so often to encourage, comfort and reassure. This isn't general wisdom, rather advice that he tailor-made just for me. I love you, Dad."
    1) Laugh. There’s humour to be found everywhere, even your darkest days there’s something to have a joke about.
    2) Be yourself. If someone doesn't like you they’re either stupid, blind, or they’ve got the bad taste. Accept who you are, you've got no one else to be.
    3) Be flamboyant, it’s who you are and always have been. Be eccentric and unique. Don’t try to adapt yourself to someone else’s view of normal.
    4) Don’t worry about other people’s opinions. Everyone’s a critic, but ultimately what they say only matters if you let it.
    5) Get angry, it’s ok to lose your temper now and then. If anger stays in, it turns to poison and makes you bitter and sad. Get angry, say your piece, then let it go.
    6) Whatever you do, always give it a good go. Don’t be afraid of failure and disappointment.
    7) Be generous and kind because you can’t take it with you. When you’ve got something to give, give it without hesitation.
    8) Appreciate beauty, take pictures and make memories. Capture it, you never know when it’ll be gone.
    9) Don’t take yourself too seriously. People who take themselves too seriously are boring.
    10) Never, ever, ever, ever give up. Keep on punching no matter what your up against.
    11) Love with all your heart. In the end, love is the only thing that matters.

    Am I Wrong?

This is my 17th birthday present from me to you. They are worth a listen... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL MY FELLOW 4 SEP, VIRGOS. I love you!!

Definitely not! Hailing from Norway, Nico & Vinz have set out to conquer the world with their incredible talent and love for music and what's better than doing so by releasing an awesome single 'Am I Wrong'

It's a while single I posted my monthly favourite but I'm starting my September with this unbelievable song that I recommend everyone to listen to because it impossible to get sick of it. The music video represent Africa in a whole new perspective... a POSITIVE one as the image of the continent is often viewed negatively in stories.

It was the most Shazammed song in the world as of July, 22, 2014 and streamed 100 million times of Spotify. Therefore it's MUST for you to listen to and LOVE it and tell the rest of the world about it because I may have found my new favourite artists of the year :)

Their presence is truly astonishing as well because you can clearly see that they are enjoying themselves. I'm so in love with this song! Always will be <3

    4 Simple Skins Secrets

    1. Washing your face daily is essential for great skin. I often try to wash mine in the morning and evening using the Simple products that my sister got me.

    - Firstly, I apply the Spotless skin triple action face wash - because it's a cream, you can apply it directly onto your skin or onto cotton wool and then gently it rub your face until you feel slightly awake.
    - Secondly, I apply the Purifying cleansing lotion and as I did with the face wash; I gently rub it in my face until I feel as it I have applied it everywhere.
    - Last is the Soothing facial toner, which I suggest it better if put onto cotton wool as its a liquid and that's my morning facial wash that I repeat before going to bed.

    2. Healthy eating or a balanced diet. Technically I've been struggling with this for a while but I'm getting there. I've realized that if you want the skin and the body that you want... a lot depends on what you eat. You have to include at least all the food groups every day and maybe snack on some unhealthy treats as a reward.

    3. Exercise is a MUST! Daily exercise is vital for good skin and good health as well because it helps release the unwanted off our body. It's not a MUST though doing exercise every day but 3 times a day for 30 mins would be lovely. If you're not good with exercise, you could try Yoga or Meditating as they help cleanse your body, soul, and mind free of negativity.

    4. I think that this last secret is one that we all thoroughly enjoy... S L E E P! We are excepted to be getting a maximum of 8 hours a night to have a great day because no one likes a grouchy sleep deprived teenager. We all know that we can be nightmares without our beauty sleep, so therefore, I tell you that if you want your naturally smooth, great looking skin; try sleeping for 8 hours and see how much of a difference it will make. I promise.

    Controversy The Controversial

I forgot to post this, but seeing as I had already written it, I might as well give it to you... I wanted to write about something that I'm rather passionate about and a topic that often raises a lot of eyebrows. So after contemplating about who to bring into this conversation, I thought why not do on the boy that everyone underestimated, the girl that was once Disney's angel and the artist that thinks he's the most original, creative and controversial artist of our generation.

Justin Bieber mugshot was taken on 23 January 2014
Just a few days ago, Justin Bieber was arrested on the account of driving under the influence of alcohol and fast driving in a 30 mph zone. Unfortunately, for him being the huge star that he is; it was obvious that his arrest would soon be broadcast worldwide and his parents would be questioned about their parenting styles as well questioning whether fame has gone to the Biebs' head.

Within a matter of time, the media had televised Bieber's court session, realized his mugshots (which I thought were seriously hot!). It began asking idiotic questions such as "Are you still a Belieber?". However, I think that they jealously plan backfired on them as within minutes Justin's 48 million Beliebers had already trended #WeWillAlwaysSupportYouJustin. Though I still pose a question to the media, firstly what is it about Justin make you just want to embarrass him? Is the fact that he has several devoted fans? Or because he's loaded and you aren't? Well, whilst you chew on that, I'd like to say screw you or even maybe fuck you to all the posers that are forever trying to bring down someone who's worked so hard for something that they truly deserve only for you to rip him down like a bunch of hungry cannibals. I get that it's partly Bieber's fault, I mean he does have an example to set to his fan but it's always our fault because we made into the person he is now. The blame doesn't only fall, one person, it's a two-way street. Forever on your side, Biebs.

Most trended tweet from on of the Beliebers: "Congrats! You've created a celebrity, but you have wrecked the human being inside. #WeWillAlwaysSupportYouJustin - DatKidrauhlCrew

"No matter how talented you are, not everybody is going to like, but that's life, just stay strong." Justin Bieber

Facing the cut: But the scenes were edited out by MTV when the show aired in the US
Miley Cyrus lights a joint at the MTV EMA Awards in Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam, Netherlands on the 10 November 2013

You've gotta love, Miley! You've got to. After defying the Disney image to go and find herself, people have labeled her as so many awful things that I personally think that she doesn't deserve.

It's was blatantly obvious that Miley was going to evolve from Disney, and it may not have been in the way that we wanted her to but that is not our decision. She's determined to put her name down in history, so shall we look at Miley's top 10 shocking moments according to Metro? I think we shall.

    1. Drugs Scandal - From what I can remember Miley has been smoking for ages, so why do you think that her smoking cigarettes are "suspicious"? She's growing up and experimenting, we all do that! Nevertheless, did that give her the power to smoke on stage during the MTV Europe Music Awards? I didn't mind, though I know some of you did and this is what she had to say "I knew the whole place would go super wild" and boy, it did.

    I'm Not The Only One

Sam Smith - I'm Not The Only One

So if you haven't heard this song, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR LIFE??? It's been a while since I reviewed a song but that's because I hadn't heard any GOOD songs during that period and now I have this song that I can't stop listening to because it's too good as it's so true and real.

The music video features Glee's very own Dianna Argon and The Mindy Project's Chris Messina and it's simply beautiful, I tell you guys... They portray a husband and wife where Argon is a belittle bride who's finding out about her husbands' transgressions and the plot unfolds in a simplicity but captivating way.

I feel as if Sam Smith is definitely something else to all other artists that have been around because writing a song in a woman's perspective as a man must have been a challenge but he succeed. He did a terrific job!

This is why I'm recommending that you go purchase his debut album In The Lonely Hour on iTunes and listen to all the tracks because I'm sure that there's a song for every one of you. I guarantee you that!

    GCSE Results 2014

Now if you live in Britain and are aged 15 or 16, I'm sure most of you received your GCSE results back yesterday. I want to say "WELL DONE to the CLASS OF 2014". We are finally done with secondary school and now are off to an even more excruciating task... SIXTH FORM for the next two years.

    Here are my results:

    English Lit & Lang - A
Maths, History, Music, RE & Citizenship - B
    PE, French & Science - C
    Additional Science - D

Tbh I think that I could've achieved way better than things though I'm rather proud of myself and the way I see it; these results DON'T determine the rest of my life. They are just a bunch of letters scribbled on a piece of paper to tell us, teenagers, what we think we are capable of and make teachers think that "she/he should've listened to me when I told her to do those extra assignments!" Nevertheless, I do give us credit because we kicked some bull with those exams!

It's funny and a serious piss take that the media has the right to assume that 'this was going to be the worst year results'... like who the heck are you to degrade us just because you're constantly struck down by your superiors or by the nation. You HAD NO RIGHT to preach to our parents, teachers, and us about how we should 'prepare for the worst results' because honestly, you're a bunch of arrogant, truculent, bothersome adults. Frankly, I apologize for being so cold but you started it, I mean you always do the minute that you downsize us and think that we are incapable of being great.

As for teenagers of Britain, that got their results yesterday... CONGRATULATIONS!! Of course, it was a horrid but maybe exciting journey but we got there in the end. Now let's focus on the next two years and do the possible best that we can again because I believe that we are so capable. We might just become the generation that changes the world.

Why? Why do I believe that? Simple... I'm apart of the 21st generation which by the way had the best shows in the 90s (cheers to that!) and I REFUSE TO BELIVE THAT THIS IS A LOST GENERATION.

    Tragic

Sorry I haven't been posting lately, I've had so much to do and so much to deal with
Though I'm back now and apologizes as the next few posts will be filled with sadness and farewell to
Robin Williams - a legend in the film industry
Mike Brown - a fellow brother of ours who was robbed of his life by the police which shows that there will never be equality if we don't respect each other
Starting from tomorrow onwards, I'll try to post regularly about what I've been up to and what I hope for in the next 4 years hopefully
I'll also share a few snippets from journal which I'm starting today because I believe that you have truly listened to my constant rambling and I wish for nothing more

    100 Years Remembering WW1

The soldier doesn't divert from his teachings, he sticks with them until the job is finished
If he, the soldier should die, think only pleasantly of him for as he now lies in a foreign land
He dies with the sound of stuttering rifles though with the picture of England in his mind
He didn't die where the flowers were filled with blood; he passed where the poppies grew with the blood of the fallen soldiers
The prayers, contempt and angelic voices of the choirs won't save them
Rather the flowers that shielded them whilst they lay asleep
     I'm sorry that we can't shake their hands to thank them for saving us;
Most were still boys when they left and signed and for a man's job
The perishing darkness that once closed in on us has fled
We no longer knew who's rich nor poor as we were once all dressed in the same rags
We all once starved to the same degree that we wished for death to come take us away
Open the blinds and glance on the streets where the plaques of the once forgotten now lie
To teach the future generations of the selfless and dauntless men that sacrificed themselves to save us, mere strangers and loved ones
Not knowing what was ahead of them or whether they'd return; no hesitation was heard
Though we know that the soldier left us thinking of his heavens whether it be France, England, America or the rest of the allies
The soldier had once experienced laughter, love of friends and family and gentleness
Now he could experience them forever whilst he lies resting peacefully
We can never know what happened to our dear soldier on the battlefield but we do know that he fought heroically and died thinking of the where the poppies blossomed in his true heaven.

    N. Rolihlahla. M

    Happy 96th Rolihlahla
It's was a tragic to see you leave and it was even more unfortunate that you aren't here with us as we celebrate your 96th because sir; man would it have been one hell of a party
You fought so valiantly and lived a well-spent life that few would only dream of
Though you're at rest now and I wish for more than anything for you to look down on us and watch us make the influence that you left another reality
Enjoy the presence of your Creator, Mr Rolihlahla
Live well, rest well and keep on smiling

Close to the bone: Chris Rock showed he has lost none of his edge during his BET Awards monologue on Sunday
    Host - Chris Rock

Tbh I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this Bet Award special because the winners deserved it and for Lionel Richie to win the Lifetime Achievement Award show how much appreciation was at the event and it was hosted by the ever so funny, Chris Rock.

Is it me you're looking for? The star was definitely not Alone as he accepted the prestigious prize
Lionel Richie awarded Lifetime Achievement award

Double act: The singer-songwriters were getting on like a house on fire throughout the show
    Two legends!!
It was a huge deal watching Chris Breezy make his comeback after being in jail but dude must have loved hearing his song 'Loyal' was hitting up the charts real high. Breezy never ceases to disappoint and I'm so excited for what he has in store for us in the next upcoming months and you guys should be too!

Burning calories: Chris Brown burned off some of his jail fat by giving an energetic performance
    Breezy in his zone

Explosive: He was making the right kind of headlines for a change after delivering a spectacular turn
He truly belongs up there on that stage! True talent!
Usher, Jhené Aiko, John Legend, Pharrell, August Alsina and Lil Wayne also killed their performances. I absolutely loved them! Especially newcomer Alsina, he's bound to be a future household name because his music is so dope! Oh and DAMN, MISSY ELLIOT was there! Greatest moment ever!!!
Sharing the limelight: The pop favourite included fellow warbler Jhene Aiko in his performance
    Jhené Aiko and John Legend
Hell bent for leather: Jennifer Hudson attracted plenty of attention after donning this skimpy outfit
Jennifer Hudson attracted attention with her sexiness!

Main man: It was obviously going to be a big night for Pharrell after he opened the show with Missy Elliott
Pharrell and Missy Elliot - legends assembling

The Mountie always gets his woman: The singing star roped in rap legend Missy Elliott as his sidekick

Can't forget my females as I have huge crushes on them... so bravo to Nicki and Iggy; you are true artists that are breaking it in for the new and upcoming female artists. There's nothing but love for you both <3

Toning it down: It could be argued this was staid in comparison to some of her previous ensembles
    Looking fine as always

    Tupac lookalike...?

So if you know me you'll know how much I love my Pac...! Now when I heard and saw the Tupac lookalike... think about how much I freaked out and socially networked friends. It became trending topic on twitter and people started on how Pac never died and shit but imma tell you what I know in 2 simple steps

    It ain't Tupac
    1. No, I haven't seen his ashes but if we are told that someone has passed then it should be true because it would be sickening for someone to make a joke out of death
    2. Tupac, himself quoted "I don't have no fear of death. My only fear is coming back reincarnated."

    Fashion!!!

I have to! I have to! I JUST have to! Now the Bet Awards are freaking big because the fashion is meant to be on point like with every award show and though I'm not that interested in fashion; this has got to be my favourite event and here were some of my favourite outfits.

Superstars: Ginuwine, Tank, Snoop Dogg and Tyrese Gibson were all in the same room during the ceremony
Ginuwine, Tank, Snoop Dogg and Tyrese Gibson in the same room...

Almost yet another squandered chance: But England striker Daniel Sturridge finally managed to get his line out during his skit with DeSean Jackson and Boris Kodjoe as they presented the best pop artist award
Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool player and future hubby), DeSean Jackson and Boris Kodjoe present Best Pop Artist

Can we please take a moment for these men able because not only do they know how to dress but they are SOOOOOOO FINE!!!!
